Today, on May 20, 2022, in continuation of the UNECE seminar with the Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan as part of the Investment Forum on March 24-25, 2022 in Tashkent, another significant event for the Uztextileprom Association took place – an online meeting with representatives of UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) and ITC (International Trade Center), dedicated to discussing the activities of the program to support Uzbekistan in terms of accelerating the sustainable and digital transformation of its textile and clothing industry.
The foreign side, represented by the leadership of UNECE (D. Mariassin, E. Türk, M. Pisani) and ITC (J. Wozniak, M. Wilcox) revealed ways to implement the project program.
As a result, several directions for further work were identified, such as the creation of a national strategy and an Advisory Council, training of specialists in textile enterprises and expert training in sustainability and quality standards, etc.
