On October 5 this year, the Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan (CRU), together with the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and Forced Labor, as well as jointly with the OSCE Office in Uzbekistan, organized an international round table on combating human trafficking.
At this event, issues of development of national, regional and international cooperation in combating human trafficking were considered, as well as practical aspects of the development and implementation of new approaches and proposals in this area were discussed.
Presentations were made by: OSCE Special Representative for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings – V. Ritchie, employees of the OSCE Office in Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies and a number of state and non-state organizations of the country. All participants of the event exchanged views and discussions on the agenda items.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the further development of international cooperation within the framework of the OSCE to combat human trafficking and forced labor between the parliaments, governments and relevant departments of the states in which there are labor migrants from Uzbekistan.
