On October 5 this year, the Confederation of Employers of Uzbekistan (CEU), in cooperation with the National Commission on Combating Human Trafficking and Forced Labor, as well as with the OSCE office in Uzbekistan, organized an international round table on human trafficking.
The event focused on the development of national, regional and international cooperation in countering human trafficking and discussed the practical aspects of developing and implementing new approaches and solutions in this area.
Presentations were made by V. Ritchie, OSCE Special Representative on Combating Human Trafficking, employees of the OSCE Office in Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies and a number of governmental and non-governmental organizations of the country. All participants of the event exchanged opinions and reflections on the topics of the agenda.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to further develop international cooperation within the OSCE on combating human trafficking and forced labor between parliaments, governments and relevant agencies of states where migrant workers from Uzbekistan are present.
